I like to touch things. I’m that person who walks through a store running my fingers over all the merchandise. I’m also very practical. What draws me to ceramics is the ability to create art that is both beautiful to look at and that can be touched, used and enjoyed as part of my daily routines. I make functional pottery: art you can use every day. I love taking a lump of clay and turning it into something that serves a practical purpose, and transforms common rituals into something special. My morning coffee feels like a celebration when I drink it from a mug covered in happy flowers. Fruit looks more enticing in a one of a kind, textured bowl. I love meeting new people and sharing my work so that everyone can enjoy art every day. And the best part: touching is encouraged!
